My husband wanted this game for a few years after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. He didn’t want to spend the money for it. Being the good wife that I am, I decided to buy it as a gift.
SO glad I did, it is the only game I am good at ! The game is a simplified version of real life. The object of the game is to get out of “rat race.” The way to get out of the “rat race” is by earning more passive income than your expenses. I love the concept of doing that. Just imagine owning enough rental properties where your monthly rent profit is enough to pay off your expenses. If you don’t like being a landlord, then pick another passive income. I don’t know that many, but they are out there. Of course you need to either borrow the money or have money to invest in order to have passive income.
The other benefit of playing the game is using a balance sheet and a cashflow sheet. It teaches you how to use them with a simple form and formula. No, you DO NOT need to be a mathematician. Do you know how to add or subtract? No…then do you know how to use a calculator? (please don’t say no to this one…) I would like to think this is basic stuff that you should have learned.
Playing with my kids is a great learning experience for them as well. They fill out the forms themselves and start thinking like the Rich Dad Poor Dad Genius! I recommend the game, I am sure there are worse things you can or have spent your money on!
